Litz wire is specilized type of high frequency wire used in electronics and components such as transformers, inductors, lighting ballasts, relays, inverters, power supplies, motors , communications equipment, medical devices, ultra-sonic equipment, consumer electronics, and heat induction equipment as well as a host of other specilized applications. Litz constructions consist of multiple thin wires, individually coated with an insulating film and twisted or woven together. The term litz wire originates from Litzendraht, German for bundled/woven wire. At Sunshine Wire we have been manufacturing Litz and specialized wire for over 25 years.
